Diary of a Godly Kid

Diary of a Godly Kid

This summer, Kids First hit the streets once again with our new summer outreach program, Diary of a Godly Kid . The program bore little resemblance to the book series and the movie of a similar title, but it did teach lots of real kids how to live for Christ in their real world. Not only was the program fun and easy to carry out for the churches that hosted the event, but the children in attendance hopped, jumped, ran, sang, prayed and “walked the plank” toward a deeper relationship with Christ. Many of the children prayed to receive Christ as their Savior, and many more prayed to live whole-heartedly for God during the upcoming school year.

Contact us at larry@kidsfirstfamily.com for more information on hosting a Diary of a Godly Kid program or any of our other outreach programs.

Splash Down at Nellie B.

Splash Down at Nellie B.

There’s nothing like a day at the beach.  But, when the beach is not available, a water slide and a sprinkler can be a fun alternative. Two weeks before school began, Kids First hosted Splash Down @ Nellie B as an end of the summer celebration. Along with slides and sprinklers, we had an ample supply of water bombs and frozen popsicles resulting in a great time for the 35 - 40 kids who joined in the fun.  Splash Down was a great end to our Summer program.  Don't worry, though, Kids First continues to meet every Friday afternoon at the Nellie B. Center.

Growing with Bethesda

Growing with Bethesda

This past spring, Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point, Georgia made a commitment to reach children in their community by offering the Kids First program on Sunday morning.  The church leadership concluded that the future of the church is in the children, and then took a big step to reach them. The Sunday morning class started out small, but has already doubled and occasionally triples in size.  We are praying that many more families in the Union Point area will join us on Sunday morning as we continue to train our children in the foundations of our faith.

Kids First meets every other Sunday at 11:00 a.m. - September 5, September 19, October 3, October 17, October 31, November 14, November 28, December 12, December 26.

Welcome to the Kids First Board

Kids First Family Fellowship is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Costa to the Kids First Board. Joe is a faithful husband to Susan, dad-of-the-year to Joey and Cindy, successful business owner of Joe Costa and Associates, and my long-time friend. Joe has already added a much needed spark to the Kids First Board, and is providing leadership in our fund-raising efforts. Joe believes in the power of prayer and has seen God work in impossible situations. Kids First is very excited to have him as part of our leadership team.

Thank You

Kids First Family Fellowship offers its sincere appreciation to everyone who is a part of our growing group of friends and supporters.  We would like to say a special thanks to Deep Creek Baptist Church in Dewey Rose and Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point for allowing us to participate with them in reaching kids in their communities.  Also, we would like to thank friends and family members who have begun supporting the Kids First ministry - Joseph and Joye Slife, Tony and Della Fowler, Joe and Susan Costa, Garry and Jan Seitz, Bill and Suzanne Baxter, and anonymous donors at Grace Fellowship Church of God.  Also, we are grateful to Tuckston United Methodist Church and our home church, Grace Fellowship, for their support of our summer programs, to Shane Todd, owner of the Beechwood and Atlanta Highway Chick-fil-a restraurants, and to Corey, Courtney, and Tom, our new cast of volunteers who come out to help at Nellie B on Friday afternoons.

Kids First Family Fellowship is a Christian discipleship program for elementary age children and their families. The vision of Kids First is to reach the children of Athens, Georgia and beyond by taking the message of Christ's love directly to their neighborhoods.
