God Rocks! Curriculum for VBS and other Special Programs Coming Soon Planning for the New Year is just around the corner. Just as this is true in our personal lives, it is also true in the church. One big item on the planning agenda for churches is Vacation Bible School, and Kids First is here to help. God Rocks! is an exciting curriculum with an evangelical focus designed to be used as an alternative to traditional VBS. The lessons in this curriculum are built around a metaphor found in the Bible that God is the Rock. Mr. Explorer, FireDog and Belmont, characters found in the Foundations lesson series, are back on the scene. Children will enjoy the hilarious skits and outrageous games, while teachers and parents will be thrilled with the Bible-rich content. The format of the curriculum is flexible. It can accomodate a 3 to 5 day (or evening) outreach program, or it can be expanded into an 8 week Summer program for Children's Church. Lessons include: God Rocks Your World (God is the Creator), God Rocks Your House (God is our place of safety), God Rocks Your Life (God is our Salvation), and Unshakable (God never changes). In addition, there are four other lessons on wisdom, facing times of testing, the True Church, and the Holy Spirit which can be taught along with the other lessons or used seperately. The God Rocks! We want to remind all of our readers who are children's church pastors, outreach coordinators, or others involved in children's ministry that we are available to come to your church or outreach program and do Kids First programs live. We offer fun and exciting prgrams as alternatives to traditional VBS and 1-4 day (or evening) evangelical outreach programs both of which feature Mr. Explorer and his puppets, FireDog and Belmont. Just for Kids is an interactive feature on the Kids First website that is, well, just for kids. Firedog and Belmont post letters to all of their friends every two weeks. Kids can read letters and make comments on the website or even send FireDog an email. Just go to our website, www.kidsfirstfamily.com, and click on Just for Kids. To send an email to FireDog write to him at firedog@kidsfirstfamily.com. FireDog will write back to everybody, even if you're really not a kid anymore. 
Over the past few months, Kids First Family Fellowhip has been blessed with two special opportunities. First, we have expanded our ministry in the Union Point area. Kids now have the opportunity to experience Kids First at Betheda Baptist Church on the first Sunday of each month at 5:30 and at the Union Point Worship Center, our new location, on the third Sunday of each month at 4:30. We pray that God will bless these churches and the children attending the Kids First programs. Also, on December 6, 2008, we had the privilege of participating with Grace Baptist Church in Monroe in their Christmas outreach program. Many families from Monroe and the surrounding area were invited to a special day at the church. They enjoyed a delicious Christmas meal, heard the gospel message, and the children received Christmas presents. We had the privilege of ministering to approximately 25 children and sharing God's love with them. Thanks to Grace Batist Church for allowing us to be a part of this event.
Kids First Family Fellowship is a Christian discipleship program for elementary age children and their families.
