Kids First Live! – Your Summer break from VBS

Has the thought of planning another Vacation Bible School already got you down? Kids First  Live! provides a fun, refreshing and effective alternative to a traditional  VBS program. Kids First offers three adaptable programs that help children to know their Creator, develop a firm foundation of faith, and discover His plan for their life.  All of our programs have been used to effectively reach hundreds of children for Christ.

What makes Kids First Live so effective?
*Children are eager to return each night with more of their friends.
*Children learn foundational principles in a way that sticks.
*Children make life-changing decisions to follow Christ
*Leaders are amazed at how fun and stress free a Bible School can be.

Programs include:

God Rocks! - Jesus Christ is our Creator
Building on the Rock - Jesus Christ is the Foundation of Our Fatih
The God-led Life - Jesus Christ has Great Plans for Me

Kids First Turns 4

September of 2009 marked the 4th anniversary of  Kids First Family Fellowship.  Here are just a few of the highlights of the past four years.

2005
May: Along a trail in the State Botanical Garden of Georgia Kids First Family Fellowship was birthed. Months of prayer, planning and waiting followed.
September: 1st Kids First meeting was held in the East Athens Community Center with 15 kids in attendance.
December: 1st Family Christmas party – Heaters, food boxes and gifts were given to 40 families.

2006
January – May: Kids First Family Fellowship, Inc. became a nonprofit ministry and a corporate board was formed.
August, 23 2006: 1st meeting of the board of Kids First Family Fellowship, Inc.
December – 2nd Family Christmas party – 75 children received specific Christmas presents that they had requested.

2007
May: New Kids First site was launched in the Rocksprings Community
Summer: God Rocks the Summer Community Wide Outreach programs hits East Athens and Rocksprings Community with over 200 children in attendance. Dozens of children accepted Christ as their Savior.

2008
January – September: kidsfirstfamily.com website was developed and launched.
Summer: God Rocks the Summer hits local churches in Athens and Union Point.
East Athens Kids First moves to Nellie B Community Center.
October: Laying the Foundation Curriculum released on the Kids First website
Fall: Biweekly community program began in Union Point.

2009
January: God Rocks Curriculum makes web launch
Kids First continues to grow in Nellie B.
Summer: Building on the Rock Summer Outreach Huge Success in local churches.
Over 50 children in Union Point, Athens and Danielsville begin a new life in Christ.
September: Union Point Community Wide Program retooled and relocated.
 

These highlights can't possibly tell the wonderful story of what God has done over the past four years.  Hundreds of kids and adults have been impacted in our weekly programs and community outreach programs, and each have their own story. Pages could be written about Keke. Shambrelle, Kevin, Man, Marquis, Ralph, Sam, Terrell, Gerald, Stantavius, Gary, and many, many more.  We give thanks to God for permitting Kids First to be involved in the lives of so many children.  We also give thanks to each person who has helped us with their prayers and support.  Happy Birthday, Kids First!

Financial News

The Bible teaches to give praise to God in both good times and bad times. Churches and parachurch organizations have faced the same difficult economic situation as the rest of the country. That is why I rejoice today in how God has provided for the Kids First ministry. He has shown us many times and many ways during the past four years that His heart is for children. Recently, at our annual board meeting our finance chair reported Kids First is off to an excellent start for the year. We still have a distance to run before we fully meet our budget, and we always have areas in which we hope to grow; but we heartily praise Our Father for the favor He has given this ministry to His children. Our prayer at Kids First is that we will use the resources God has given in the way He intends, and not fall short of the prize.

Together with the prayer and support of our friends we will continue the task of reaching the children of Athens and the surrounding area with the Gospel of Christ.
